Thank you to everyone who joined our celebration at Signorello Estate, placed bids, or gave so generously — your support means so much! From family consultations and caregiver support groups to community education and respite care—every note played and every song sung will help those in our community living with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Your Musical Memories
My first patient as a volunteer lived in the Veteran's Home and was experiencing dementia. I would take my iPod and play Frank Sinatra’s I'll Remember April as he reminisced about the Big Band era in LA. Sometimes we would dance. It was such an honor to provide moments of support for him to visit his memories. —Marilyn
Whenever the unmistakable chords of Pearl Jam's Even Flow fill the air, I'm instantly taken back to my college days, cruising down the highway, making endless drives to and from campus. —Jen
As a kid, "The Sound of Music" only played in movie theaters and had special encore showings every few years. It was a BIG deal to go see it with my family. —Veronna
We are the World brings back memories of my older brother who passed away in 2018. When I was in junior high, and he was in high school, I remember sitting in our living room with my brother and his best friend as they impersonated their favorite artists from the song. —Mark
Certain songs are time machines, bringing me back to an exact moment spent with friends and loved ones. Love Shack is me at 17, riding in the car with Jason and Lori and Sara, laughing as we scream the chorus together. —Matt
Hearing Cool it Now and Mr. Telephone Man by New Edition always takes me back to junior high, hanging out with my best friend, and lip syncing (maybe with a brush as a microphone and a little choreography). —Mark
